Muslims in Mauritius
Mauritius is a wonderful island in the indian ocean where live some 18 % muslims.
Thanks to the sincere work of many, pre-primary, primary and secondary islamic schools have been established in the island. There are numerous masjids and madrassahs, halaal restaurants, islamic shops…
However, living as a minority poses many problems, especially identity crises.
Our islamic culture is marred by the majority and the exaggerated media exposure!!!
It is the duty of each individual to acquire true knowledge and to understand the fundamentals of his/her religion. It is the duty of each parent to teach his/her children LOVE OF ALLAH.
Alhamdulillah, there are many converts to Islam. Many new muslims and muslimahs have committed themselves wholeheartedly to the sincere cause of islamising the world….
This task is huge in the sense that ignorance is the key word of defeat and failure. We need to unite our heart and pray Allah so that we may overcome our spiritual weaknesses in order to make Allah’s Deen prevail….

Setting rivals to Allah.....
“And set not up with Allah any other ilah (god) lest you should be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected.” (17:39)
Indeed, people have taken their passions for their gods, they have taken their loved ones, their families, their work….and whatever their hearts wish, as the centre of interest and has therefore neglected their meeting with Allah.
This is the reason why many people nowadays are in trouble and face confusion. The heart is sick…sick of love for others. They have been misled by their passions and desires.
“Know you, that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, [in rivalry] among yourselves, riches and children” s 57 v 20
So, the more we run after the world, the more distressed and hopeless we will be.So, do not set rivals with Allah. do not love people as you should love Allah.
“And be ye not like those who forgot Allah; and He made them forget their own souls! such are the rebellious transgressors!” s Al Hashr 59 v 19
Allah Almighty said: “Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred; the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwellings in which you delight …are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger, and striving hard and fighting in His Cause, then wait until Allah brings about His Decision (torment).” (9:24)
May Allah help us to love Him the most, insha Allah and remain steadfast in His Deen.
